SME InfoFairs Design Study
The Industry Portfolio of Industry Canada wanted to standardize the research conducted with respect to its cross-country set of SME InfoFairs. InfoFairs are information sessions consisting of seminars and trade-show-type booths to present information to businesses and entrepreneurs about support available from the Government of Canada. The research had previously been conducted in an ad hoc manner, using differing methods and questionnaires. This limited the ability to compare results and combine the results to generate national data.
This project involved the design of a number of research tools and processes, including a questionnaire for use with InfoFairs participants, a questionnaire for exhibitors (representatives of departments and agencies exhibiting at the InfoFairs), a how-to guide presenting standard procedures for implementation of both questionnaires, a report template, and a seminar on research methods presented to key InfoFairs personnel.
